Silence for Lost Key Workers

Today, the 28th April 2020 and International Workers Memorial Day, a minute’s silence will be held at 11:00 BST as a tribute to the essential workers who have died with coronavirus.

We will be taking part in today’s silence to mark our respect for the workers who have given their lives in the fight against coronavirus. This includes over 100 healthcare workers who have died, as well as legal practitioners, transport workers, and other essential roles.

The virus has affected us all, and we recognise the affects would be even worse if it were not for the incredible work of those keeping us healthy, fed, comfortable, and in contact with each other. We are grateful for the bravery and support these essential workers are giving to our community.

We hope you join the country in commemorating those who have lost their lives. Our thoughts are with them and their loved ones.
