Not just your average solicitors............
Monday, January 23, 2012 at 9:41AM How can we trust Michael to fly an aeroplane when he can't even set the time and date on a camera?
(Please note the time and date on the pictures).
High flying as a solicitor took on a whole new meaning last weekend as I got to try a flight with Michael Horne a solicitor and director of Kidwells Law where I work. It was a bitterly cold and more worryingly foggy start as we set off to Shobdon Airfield where Michael flies from. We were all there ready for an early start and braved the cold to get the plane ready, confident that the fog would clear as the sun broke through.
After a while we were driven in doors and spent a few hours in the canteen eating bacon sandwiches and drinking coffee and chatting as we waited expectantly. Time passed and while there was blue sky higher up, the lower and ground air stayed disappointingly white. Our expected departure time of 11o’clock came and went and about 12.30 we reluctantly set a deadline for the fog to clear or abandon the trip because of the short daylight hours.
Just as we set the time the skies began to clear. We had to shorten the planned trip and flew to Haverford West. Despite the wait the enjoyable company and the experience of being in a small aircraft and the stunning view made the day one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
